Marie Krøyer – Blodets Bånd
Installation for the theater, at the Danish Art Workshops, 2008
Marie Krøyer and her daughter Vibeke is meeting after the death of Marie in a landscape of distorted memories, furnitures eroding into sand dunes, and wallpapers reflecting the past.
I wanted to develop a reactive space that could contain the gab of memories between the living and the dead. The past should be printed in the walls and carved in the furnitures.
I had a close collaboration with the musician Claus Carlsen, with whom I developed sonic pieces in the space, such as a flute playing closet, a vibrating sub woofer table clinking its porcelan and a raving suitcase opening itself with a big cloud.
I also worked together with the light designer Jonas Bøgh to make the space vibrate. The tapestry was made out of primary colors which would come forward according to the color of light and make the color of the space change from “the inside”.
